AFOQT Math-Test Day Tips
The Air Force Officer Qualifying Test or AFOQT is the first step to becoming an officer in the United States Air Force! AFOQT is an important test for many reasons, but more so because it allows the Air Force to know your strengths and weaknesses and how they can make the most of your abilities.
The AFOQT exam consists of 470 multiple-choice questions. To complete the whole test, 3 hours 30 minutes are given to the test candidates. Each part of the exam is timed, and the time limit is different for each part. The AFOQT has a total of 12 subtests. Each subtest meets one of the skills that an entry-level Air Force officer needs to use during training as well as in the professional environment.
The Math Knowledge (22 minutes, 25 questions) and Arithmetic Reasoning (29 minutes, 25 questions) are math subtests of the AFOQT test. The AFOQT math test is not a difficult task and you can overcome it with practice.
After weeks of preparation, you know what to expect AFOQT. Now your test day is near. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your test day.

The Night Before the Test
Relax!
Have a good night’s rest so you can function at your highest level. Watch a TV show or do something else to relax and put your mind to the test. If you take the exam with fatigue and stress, you will get a lower score.
Eat a healthy meal
You want to have energy and be on the best day of the test so eat a good dinner.
Gather what you need
Prepare the necessary equipment the night before so that you do not rush in the morning of the exam. You will need an admission ticket, test site instructions, a valid form of photo identification, several no. 2 pencils, a watch, and if desired, a small snack and something to drink to keep your energy high during the test.
Map out your route
Make your way to the test center the night before. If you drive during rush hour, remember the traffic. If you want to be accurate and not have a stress test day, you can visit the place where the exam is held and learn the route.

Sleep enough
Get your usual sleep (at least 7-8 hours). Note how much you sleep in the days before the exam and how many hours it takes to feel refreshed. This allows you to be as sharp as possible in the AFOQT test and make fewer mistakes.
On Test Day!
Give yourself extra time on the morning of the test
You want to be awake and calm. Set your alarm to go off a little early to make sure you have enough time and do not have to struggle to prepare. It also allows you to get to the testing center on time.
Eat a healthy breakfast
You still want to get energy. But do not eat too much. You do not want to be uncomfortably full when you take the exam. Your breakfast should contain the necessary vitamins and energy.
Dress in layers
Be prepared for different temperatures. You do not want to be frustrated by being too cold or too hot while taking the test.
Double-check everything
If you can, pack everything the night before so you don’t have to worry about the morning anymore, but before leaving home, make sure you have everything you need for the exam, such as a pen, paper, or book.
Think positively
A good attitude is a powerful thing. You can do this with confidence in your abilities. It boosts your energy and motivation for success.
The Best Quick Study Guide for the AFOQT Math Test
During the Test!
Manage your time
What many test takers may not know is that it is important to manage your time at AFOQT. You will be given 3.5 hours to answer 470 questions. It means that many AFOQT sections will take you less than a minute to answer each question. So it is important how you manage your time effectively.
Do not go too fast, you can ignore important details. And do not go too slow, due to lack of time you may have to hurry in the end.
Read each question carefully
Sometimes the correct answer to a question depends on a word, so read each question in its entirety.
It’s okay to guess
If you are not quite sure which answer is correct, guess it. In AFOQT, guessing an answer, and getting it wrong is as valuable as an empty answer. So you may be guessing instead of leaving the answer blank. You get points for the number of correct answers and, you will not be penalized for any incorrect answers.
Review your work
Check the unanswered questions you missed and review the questions you struggled with to recheck your work.
Answer every question
It’s not okay to leave the question blank, it’s okay to guess when you don’t know the answer to a question. Failure to answer a question will count against your score while having a wrong answer will not.
After the Test!
The experiment is over and it makes no sense to ask yourself the answer or increase your stress level. It’s time to relax. There is nothing you can do about it, so it’s best to find something that makes you happy and find something to enjoy doing for the rest of the day.
